Hi,

I have an 2012 infiniti m37 and the car had been showing problems of hard steering. I had it checked locally and it looks like there is leakage in the rack and pinion assembly. The car has just 62000 miles so it's pretty surprising for it to happen. My basic warrantly ran out a year back but have powertrain warranty at this time. Should this be covered by powertrain warrantly?

The closest dealer is about 200 miles away and wants $2300 to repair. They said it won't be covered by warranty when I talked to them on the phone.

Any idea if infiniti will help with this since the car has just 62K miles on it?

Power-train wont cover that, but some dealers will help you out. I understand that they have a discretionary fund on service items.

Welcome to the forum. I'd call Infiniti corporate and see if they can help out in some way too. 62kmi is definitely a premature failure of the seals, etc. That thing should last at least double.

Thanks. I called corporate yesterday and they are suppose to call me back today. I have an appointment with a Nissan dealer on Monday to have it shown to them for better documentation.

It's really odd for it to leak from both the sides. Sounds like it didn't get put together properly.

Uhm are you sure power-train doesn't cover that.. so have you confirmed your low on power steering fluid?
