Hi! I'm trying to find instructions on how to change the headlamp bulb. The dealer want to charge me almost $400 ($179 for the bulb and the rest for labor). My car is no longer under warranty because it has 65,000 miles. I took a look at the engine bay and it seems there is no easy way to get to the assembly. It is true that the fender has to be removed as the dealer told me?

Thanks for reading and for any help on this matter.

Get the FTM for the M, here http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/M/2011/
It will show you everything you need to know about the car... Including how to change headlamps.

Sorry if I'm too late but it's super easy to change the bulbs. If you're super lazy you don't even need to jack the car up. Just turn the wheel all the way to the right if you're replacing the drivers side or turn it all the way to the left if you're replacing the passenger side. Then remove all of the clips holding the wheel-well cover towards the front of the wheel, including the one at the very top of the wheel well. Once that entire plastic flap is removed, it will reveal the back of the headlight and you can easily twist off the cap that will expose the D2S bulb. This process works exactly the same on G37/G35 coupes and sedans as well.
