About 2 months ago noticed issues with my audio. I get a sharp high pitched beep when changing volume then the audio cuts out for 15 seconds and comes back. I also noticed issues with phone calls, the first few times I call someone, I don't hear a dail tone or anything and the call seems to connect but I can't talk to or hear the other person. I usually have to hang up and try a few times before I hear the dial sound and I can actually talk to the other person. Also, after getting off a call, the audio from the radio doesn't come back and I can see the volume indicator go up when trying to increasing the volume but again no audio but for about 25 seconds this time then it comes back super loud. I turned off the bluetooth on the car hoping that it would resolve the issue but no luck. Called the dealership and they want to charge $125+ just to diagnose the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to the forum.

I haven't heard of this situation in particular but I'd lean towards your amp being the issue vs the actual radio being bad.

See if there is any troubleshooting steps in the factory service manual (FSM) found in the FAQ link in my signature for your year car, etc.

There are a couple of service bulletins that may address the issues you're having.

Thanks Iilya! I'll look through the service manual to see what I can do. So, the audio issues is most prevalent when I'm increasing or decreasing the volume (doesn't happen every time) and it's a high pitch noise for about 3 seconds.

Thanks Army Brat! I had looked through these before but I did find some that are applicable to me, i.e. Bluetooth issues but I didn't see anything related to audio though.

Isn't there a some sort of a self test thing in that hidden settings menu in our cars? I checked it out a couple years ago, and I thought it had something in there for the audio system testing. Don't have access to my car at the moment. Can anyone confirm?
