Hello everyone,
I’m having an odd issue with the liftgate on my 2012 Rogue SL. When I open the rear driver-side door, the liftgate latch releases... not all the way, but it is ajar. No other door does this and it’s the action of pulling that handle (not even opening the door) that causes the rear latch to pop partially open.
I’ve confirmed this is not a coincidence after many many times trying it.

Has anyone had this happen to them? What did you do to fix it?

Any advice is much appreciated and I apologize if the answer is elsewhere in the forum. I could not find anything.

The liftgate latch operates normally and does not release randomly any other time.

Pretty weird. Since opening door by the handle is all mechanical and not electrical.

My rogue locks by itself on occasion.

Got use to it.

Short somewhere?

I'm thinking it must be a short, but I'm not even sure where to start looking. It's one of the oddest things I've ever seen a car do.
