2012 - Keyless functions stop working when hot

2012 Rogue SL
Past few months we noticed that at times all keyless functions stop working. Can't unlock doors and can't start the car because the key is not seen. The battery in the fob has been replaced. We narrowed the issue down to heat. This seems to occur when the car has been outside and is very hot. We have to take the actual key out to operate it. When it's cooler then keyless works fine.

Anyone experience this?
Normally I would just take it to service dept but it's out of warranty.
