The 2012 income tax thread!!!

What are you buying for your Z??? If your not buying anything for your Z share with us what your buying it doesn't have to be Z related!

First we will talk about what were all buying.
Then once you can take a picture of what you bought post a picture of your purchase!!!

I'll start!
I am going to be using the money to hopefully buy Tien Super Street coilovers w/EDFC!! But I may have to use that money to buy the SZ exhaust.

remember it doesn't have to be Z related.

decisions, decisions... probably will save at least 1/2 of it. with the other 1/2 i'll strongly consider buying:

- eotech holographic sight
- mountain bike, maybe a few year old specialized stumpjumper
- snowboarding pants/coat
- 350z front big brake upgrade w/stainless steel lines

that should take care of the cash

The days of me enjoying my tax return are long gone I'm afraid :frown:

Stumpjumper? I haz that:

But that's a stripped down and rebuilt 1997 StumpJumper Pro. 24.5lbs

Also Mark I'd personally pass on the Teins unless you're getting a sick deal. The EFDC is gimmicky and there are better dampers out there now. SPL is coming out with a new coilover this spring, and the Powertrix line is impressive. You can change the dampening in about a minute if you have the holes in your rear strut covers.

Take a look at these...
for-sale-jwt-sport-500-turbochargers-t550092.html
Big T runs them and is very happy, good for decent HP if you're not looking for HUGE HP, and the reason for selling/condition of sale items seems like a great way to go...this is what I will eventually upgrade to when my snails go bye-bye.

Putting it in the bank along with a couple months worth of salary and hopefully find a couple more investors so my buddy and I can open up our own property investment and management firm.

Yeah sport 500s are great street turbos. Could definitely be good for 500WHP with the right mods and tuning.

Completely stock (and will stay that way)!...maybe

Save a good portion of the money and complete 120K maintenance for the Z32 (though I'm still at 53K but the car is 22 years old this year). Hopefully, that's the only big maintenance item I have to do for the summer.

It's a great system, you'll enjoy it.

SPL is coming out with a new coilover, not EFDC.

Hmmm... I havent even thought about how I'm spending my tax return.. Been pretty preoccupied with my job. All the Food Lion stores are closing in Florida and Ive been on the hunt for a new job. No bueno! My store will be closed by the end of the week, I've had 2 weeks to prepare :frown:

Anyways! If I get a new job soon and don't rack up too much debt being jobless, I will probably spend some of it doing track days at Jennings on the bike, and save the rest in case of emergencies (like a 2 week notice of unemployment! )

Damn :(

I love edfc though. I am still looking to go with Tien since it is a necessity to have EDFC.

Unless I could some how modify my stock dampner units to work with the SPL...

But I am open to options!

T, I know fitment on the powertrix and SPL are amazing. But are they comfortable?? What does your wife think about riding around in your Z??

Either a hardtop and re-paint on my Miata,

Or Getting my RPS clutch and Flywheel kit on the Z installed, and paying for the tune to Ztuner.

LOL!!! :lolling: :rotfl Wife in the Z... oh man, that's a good one.

She refuses now. Solid links definitely make for a rougher ride, same with the SPL coilovers, but once the coilovers warm up, it's actually very smooth riding.

AFAIK, no one has take the time to modify the SPL or PT units to work with the OEM switch and actuators, though it wouldn't be that difficult. Stick with the Tein, you'll like it.

Powertrix or SPL are the only two companies I'd trust for suspension parts on the Z.

Maybe Nismo or Stillen RUCAs if you find a good deal, but other wise I'd just contact Charles at Powertrix or SPL directly and see if they can work out a package deal for you.

Interesting Thread!

We decided to spend the tax money on our honeymoon :gapteeth:

If we have some money left, we need to get the TT OEM bumper repainted and may be fix the safety boost issue.

did not go yet. Need to do the taxes first. We want to go to Hawaii......so any tips/advice would also be appreciated! I think I should make a separate thread.....Is there an off topic section for 300ZX folks? Or does it exist in NICO off topic section only?

Have to figure out how much I am getting back before I decide what to do with it. Likely going towards the tt swap though unless I decide to be responsible and put it to student loans or something
