2012 Gift Exchange info

Last year, I coordinated a "secret santa" sort of thing on TT.NET. It turned out to be a lot of fun and some of us got some nice stuff. I decided to open it up to some other forums as well for max participation.

It's time for the 2012 Gift Exchange. The concept is simple. You CLICK THIS LINK and sign up. I'm giving people until October 28th to get signed up. After that, names will be drawn randomly and you will see who you are matched with. You will only see who you are buying a gift for. You will NOT see who is buying you a gift. On November 19th, everybody is expected to have a gift picked out and mailed to their person.

Obviously, the more people to sign up, the better. If you played last year, you will not get the same person this year. That is one of the restrictions I placed in the drawing of names.

There are tons of little nicknac Z things on the webs that you can buy for the gift exchange, this will be alot of fun.

Everybody will be matched with someone. The only caveat is, if you played last year, you won't get the same person this year.

The goal is to just have fun and then guess who sent you the gift. Toward the end, you can start dropping hints if you want. I also monitor the whole thing to ensure everybody actually receives a gift. If somebody doesn't send a gift, I have no problem name dropping (after I try to work it privately of course). I set a maximum value at $30. If you choose to factor shipping into this, you may. If you choose to go higher or lower, you may. Just keep in mind you don't want to be the cheapskate who sends a $5 gift whereas you receive a $35 gift from someone. This is only as fun as we make it. Let's be honest and enjoy!

It's that time! Names have been automatically drawn and everybody should have a partner. Take some time to post up your wishlist on the gift exchange site. It'll give your person a chance to know exactly what you want. While you are free to get anything you want, remember that you don't want to be the cheapo that sends a paperclip bent in the shape of the letter Z. The $30 spending limit is the general guideline we have set. If you want to buy a $30 item, great! If you want to send 3 $10 items, that works as well. If you can't afford $30 but you found something awesome for less, have at it. Just remember to have all items shipped by November 19th. We want to ensure people get their stuff with plenty of time to spare before Christmas. Thanks to all who are participating this year!

That wallet set is really nice. I got it last year from the gift exchange. Mine says "300ZX" on it and has the red stitching. I've been using it for almost a year now and it's holding up great.
