Hello everyone, I have a 2012 Infiniti FX35 and recently encountered a problem with the left mirror. I once closed it by hand instead of using the switch, which resulted in a small sound like something broke. Now, the mirror is loose horizontally and the switch no longer works for the left mirror. I can hear the motor sound when I use the switch, but the mirror doesn't close or open.

The mechanic advised replacing the entire mirror set, which comes with a high price tag.
Any advice on how to fix this issue?

It sounds like you broke something in the motor drive assembly, but the only way you're likely to find out what's broken is to tear down the mirror. I don't know if that's worth the trouble. InfinitiPartsDeal doesn't show the motor assembly being available separately like it is on some other models, so if it turns out to be anything which can't be glued or screwed back together, you're probably SOL. Your best bet might be the junkyard. If you do want to tear it down, this may help you out. It's an Armada, but most Nissan/Infiniti folding mirrors have similar construction:
