If you're talking about a wheel hub stud, then you want to replace it, not re-thread it. It's too dangerous in a critical location otherwise.
If it's some other bolt, then maybe rethread, but a die will cost more than the bolt I suspect, so I'd go for a replacement. In any case, be sure to get the properly rated bolt. Affordable wood bolts at home depot are not the same as Nissan factory bolts for suspension.
Threading will be different measurements than the nut and bolt sizes. You need a thread pitch and diameter. So, get a matching bolt, put a nut on that and then take that nut to the hardware store and put it on the thread pitch measurers and see what you need.
