Hi All,

Just recently bought a new Altima coupe and decided to change the interior lights and license plate lights. I followed all the instructions written in the write up here in the link below to install the lights just last night.

And then I noticed this happening this morning.

The bulbs I used for these lights are..

http://www.v-leds.com/6K-WHITE-1W-HP-LE ... 75517.html

For some reason when the switch is in "Door" mode the LED looks like it is still on(car is on, doors are shut)... but dimmed...kinda cool I guess? However, when the both of the switch are in "door" position only the dome light will stay on and dimmed like shown above. If I turn the switch of the dome light to "off", the map light will be on like shown above if it is in "door" position, vice versa. It's not really a big problem, since I can still turn it on and off manually. I'd just like to find out what's causing this if anyone knows. Any help will be great :) Thanks!

my leds dont do that.... lol.. its not a new feature because that would be annoying as s***.... its more of a bulb thing.

my old Pathfinder did in the rear dome light though.

I dont remember the exact reasoning, but it has something to do with a very small amount of current that constantly runs through the circuit due to the rocker switch. It shows with LEDs, but not filament bulbs.

Thanks for the reply!

Hmmm... Yeah I know.. it kind of is. Because if I just leave the switch in "door" position. It'll just stay on like that. And I wrote new feature in the hopes that I might get people's attention.. Sorry :|

I see. Are there any remedies or alternative bulbs that could possibly alleviate the problem? Because I don't really like the dome LED anyway it's definitely not bright enough even when it's on.

I have this exact same issue. It's due to the small amount of current that passes through the circuit. It's not enough to light a standard bulb, but is sufficient for LEDs, which require far less energy.

Leaving the lights on the door setting will not kill your battery. However, the little glow bothers me a bit, so I keep them both set to off and turn them on as needed.

I used Superbrightleds and I don't have that problem. I have blue leds and have never seen the lights stay on.

Yea my door step LEDs are on when the door closes. I guess its nothing to worry about in terms of blowing out the bulb since I've had these LEDs when I bought the car back in Oct.
