The front window is divided into 2 sections. It has that pointless extra strip after the a-pillar. It looks like the leuver vents on 70s-80s pickup trucks except minus the function. The SI model is a little more easy on the eyes than the lesser models.

Anyone notice the similarities in the lower air dam to that of the GT-R? Same overall shape.

Without driving it, my initial reaction is they botched it. Transplanting the 2.4 from the TSX is just a cost cutting measure. I've been a honda fan boi for a long time and this is just more of the disappointing trend from Honda as of late!

I like the look of it from that one picture, though I will never own one. "Front wheel drive" and "sports car" never belong together. I'd take a Genesis over a Civic.

I dont understand why Honda has stopped manufacturing their popular K20 engine :wtf2: . It just doesnt make any sense dropping a heavier K24 into the SI. Does this mean no move covenant V-tec for Honda owners lol. Or does the K24 have the tec as well

why would you not want a K24. Hondas need a torque boost so that's why they went for a k24.

From the angled rear pic, it looks like a scion tc with its black roof.

K24 has VTEC...

It's also got a fully counterweight crankshaft, longer stroke than KA.

Honda just got their Acura designs mixed up is all. I'm sure this is just a typo.

Wait, no. Honda really does suck this hard. I'm gonna carry on with my life as if nothing ever happened.... Oh look, a butterfly......

bc Honda might be incorporating changes like those of the current TSX. VTEC on the intake cam only, and a integrated exhaust manifold like that which has been appearing on most new Honda engines (J-series, R-series, etc.). Basically It depends how they implement it. If they drop it in from the TSX, then it won't have VTEC on the exhaust side, which makes it harder to give it a good top end rush. I won't go so far as to say impossible, but I would say unlikely. Also, the cast in exhaust manifold is probably a foregone conclusion, especially if they use even a remotely similar K24 to the TSX/Accord/CRV. However, all may not be lost there. While it probably won't respond as well as a pure header, it is likely it will gain some power. It may just be less tunable. I dunno, im talking outta my a$$ lol. I love Nissan :rotfl

Agreed :dblthumb: I think for me it their car scene I dislike. As well as the 85% of honda owners who think theres no other car in existance other than the civic and mold disgusting body panels APC nonfunctional hoodscoops and unpainted aluminum wings.

I don't have that much of a problem with its looks. It's a tad sleeker looking than it's predecessor but that has nothing to do with the driving experience. The two level dash seems overdone and unsporty to me despite a big tach in the middle. The original Civic CRX SI's charm was its simplicity, and was a sporty little thing despite being wrong wheel drive. I can't condemn or praise the new one until I drive it.

Gets points for what appears to be a driver-centric accessory pod. I absolutely loathe the "gauge" cluster, which seems to be designed deliberately so that the steering wheel and the driver's hands obfuscate the readouts unless you keep them at 10/2 all the time. I actually prefer the lines of the coupe over the sedan due primarily to the angle of the roofline and its proximity to the tail (cab looks set too far back on the sedan).

Overall, I say meh, but I'm sure it will get great gas mileage and insurance for it will be cheap as hell, so it should be the best friend of 17-year old girls and psychologically castrated married men who need room in the back for a baby seat on the weekends but have a 40-mile commute to work every day.

The details are improved over the current generation, but the overall design still sucks.

I'm REALLY not a fan of the shoulders on the coupe. They're way overdone. And they don't really fit with the rest of the car's style.

:rotfl

A: These engines are closely related and share the same basic block and design. The weight difference is negligible.
B: These are similarly-sized aluminum I4s which already weigh next to nothing. The weight difference is negligible.
C: MORE displacement means LESS block material. So "bigger" is lighter. Of course, piston, rod, and crank change along with displacement, so that plays a role too.
D: The weight difference is less than 30lb anyway.
E: Different drivers will have a greater weight impact than that. And passenger arrangement.
F: 30lb worth of savings does not make up for less power, I don't care where it's hanging on the car.

For a production road car, 30lb is a REALLY good tradeoff for better torque and power and more efficient highway cruise. Unless you're trimming thousandths off a lap time, the weight difference here isn't even worth considering. As far as I can see, it makes plenty of sense.

The 8th gen SI was a hugeeeeeeeeeee step upwards, almost getting 100HP/Litre. 8000 rpm redline is great to listen to. 7 years later, all we get is an engine transplant with 3 more hp and some torque.

Here is a graph from TOV

Image

If you want 200 HP and more torque go get the GTI. Plus honda is going to as some redic price for this.

+1. I actually really liked that gen.

This one though... I could make a better looking front fender/A-pillar monstrosity if I teabagged a bowl full of water colors and dragged my sack across a crumpled up newspaper.
