On your car, when there are vehicles behind you at night can you tell that the mirror turns green/blue at all?

Turns out mine was defective. Dealership replaced it for free. And a week later I traded in for '12 Rogue.Rogue One wrote:Doesn't appear to change.webzila wrote:Never tried the flashlight. Wont hurt to give it a shot

do you have an auto start installed? that might be an antenna for it.JMed wrote:Since my car was someone's lease before I bought it, I'm assuming that person had the auto dimming mirror installed and when the dealer put the car on sale they took it out and put up a regular mirror.
I don't always have problems with others cars lights at night, but once in a while I get an a**hole on a big SUV or truck with HID's that leave me blind, even with my limo tints in the back. Something that I would enjoy having is the homelink button![]()
If those wires are for that, it might be an easy mod like Rogue Noob said...
Yeah, I do have a Remote Starter... I'm more confuse now, I will have to check my girlfriend's Rogue because she does not have an Auto Dimming Mirror, but yesterday she got a Remote Starter installed at a Nissan Dealer. If she has that, then it might be an antennaNick2010 wrote:do you have an auto start installed? that might be an antenna for it.
that would be it then, my remote start antenna is installed exactly the same as yours.

Just picked up a 20112 FWD SV w/SL package, but no remote start. Don't even think it's a factory option. Would be nice.Rogue Noob wrote:Do the new rogues come with remote start? The car kind of already has it built in, you just need to start and stop in from inside the car but you can walk away and lock it while it runs. Great for running errands with pups on board.
Sweet! I fell in love with my new Rogue the moment I laid eyes on it. Seriously overpaid, but love is stupid that way!JMed wrote:It's not a factory option, but I guess some Nissan dealers have the people to install them... In my girlfriend case, the installation price was included in the financing amount so the only thing she had to do was to call the dealer at a later day to make the appointment to get it install.
fob?Rogue One wrote:Does she have a second fob for the remote start, or a combined one?

Does your previous car's remote starter have the range of up to one mile? Something is wrong with you if you're bothered by that antenna. Toll transponder or most GPS is 10 times bigger than the remote starter antenna and almost all cars in any major US city have them on their windshield.Rogue Noob wrote:Seems like a giant PITA for a remote start system. I had it on a previous car and it was just tucked in out of sight at the bottom of the windshield, and only the antenna could be slightly seen. That thing is hideous if put on aftermarket. I would be PISSED. They put in extra work to get it 18" higher off the ground and then have the install look like that? Ouch. I would leave this stuff to the professionals if the dealer is doing that kind of work.
They have different plugs. I bought one on ebay and just cut the 2 wires on the auto dim one, and hooked the 3 wires ( 2 hot, one ground) from the Homelink one. It was very simple. There is also another thread on this forum.Rogue One wrote:OK, we've gotten a little side tracked here. Here's an interesting thought... Is the Auto Dimming Mirror plug 'n play? Could I say, unplug my Auto Dimming Mirror and plug in one with the Homelink feature?
Thanks for the reply. I just assumed it might plug in, due to this form the official install instructions. It looks to me like the wiring just plugs into the back of the mirror.AnthemGems wrote:They have different plugs.
