I'm not 100% sure what they're for. I hear that they are used to protect the car from rock chips, but I don't think it's a commonly hit spot. I haven't bothered taking them off, because they're hard as hell to remove and I will probably need some Goo Gone to finish the job.

funkee, it doesn't seem likely a rock chip could happen in front of the rear wheels and specificly in that location. They are not on other Nissan models.

I think they are really random spots to put the patch if you ask me. They shouldve put one on the lip of the hood at least

had my windows tinted and they put plastic patch under the door handles to eliminate scratches

I took them off my car because on a white car they eventually discolor and turn a dirty yellow.
