I am about to step up to a G37 convertible from my G35 lease. I seem to have gotten some great pricing. One dealer has a leftover 2011 with Premium and Nav pkg and 15K miles per year for $499 per month including tax and $3500 drive off; the other has the smae offering in a 2012 for $525 including tax and $3500 drive off (also 15K miles per year). Aside from the one year difference (the 2011 was delivered in April of 2011), I would get more of a choice of colors. The 2011 is obsidian black with black interior, wood trim anad wind deflector. Is it worth the $25 per month difference to get the newer year? I don't dislike the black, but the 2012 is Pacific Sky (the light blue), which I like. The issue is unless the 2012 purchase has an advantage over the 2011, I don't know if it is worth $25 a month for 39 months to get a preferred color. Any opinions on one year newer?

Only you can answer the color question. Here in the deep south where I live , double black is not preferred due to the heat. There are no significant changes from 2011 to 2012 except you get a spare tire instead of the tire repair kit. The 2012 will have a higher residual value at the end of the lease. Be careful with those 15,00 miles...it gets expensive if you go over!

:dblthumb: you will be better of with 2012 for extra $975 over the life of the lease, imho. :bigthumb:

Always go newer if you can! Tell them to give you a deal on buying the 2011! I love the Black/Black combo ;)

Rumor has it that in June deliveries are 2013 models.

If you tell the dealer with the new car that you are really leaning towards the 2011 to save money, they might bring the price down a little more. Worth a try unless you have already negotiated the price down as far as they will go. I agree that you should go with the newer car if possible, especially if you are leasing. I used to sell cars so I'm aware of the "extras" the dealers get from manufacturer that bring the price below "invoice" (which sometimes is useless). Good luck and whatever you get, you are going to enjoy it!
