I wanted to buy a 2011 Rogue but cannot find any that match my exact requirements (SL, AWD, Indigo Blue, Black Leather and less than 50 miles). I had one available but I had to go on vacation and it was gone when I returned. With the Tsunami in Japan I hear that production is at about 50% there and so inventory is not being restocked. Has anyone heard any news on the status of 2011 Rogues as well as anything about the 2012 editions? Will the prices go up, and if so how much? $1000, more/less?

I could order the 2011 to be made for me but I figure waiting 3 months would put me close to the 2012 release so might as well get those...either way I'll probably be screwed by paying a higher price.

Clearly my issue is my strict requirements that I am not willing to budge on - any of them. When you spend $29k for a car you should get what you want and not what's available on the lot - otherwise you don't get anything and just wait...I'm a patient man. I guess one thing else that I wanted to add was that you guys are bad...I noticed lots of people here have the Indigo Blue Rogues!!! You took my car!!! :)

Hey Z-Knight, welcome to the Rogue forum, glad to hear you've decided to join up!

I don't think there's any way to know what the prices will be for the 2012's yet, but my guess would be no change. There is lots of competition in the crossover market, much more than back in 2008 when I bought my Rogue with the arrival of the redesigned Kia Sportage & Sorento, Hyundai Tucson, Mitsubishi RVR/Sport.

The Rogue just received a refresh design so it won't be due for a full re-design for 3 or more years, the 2012's will not see any major changes and probably will have identical specs to the 2011 models.

It's tough to say if and how the disaster in Japan might affect the 2012 model year, normally you'd expect arrival in the fall but who knows, it could be pushed back a bit. However if you can find the specific Rogue you're looking for it might be worth travelling a bit to take advanatage of clearout pricing on 2011's starting this summer.

Let us know how things work and good luck finding that perfect blue Rogue!

The Rogue is produced at the Kyushu plant in Japan. Production has already resumed on April 13 at all Nissan plants, however Nissan is forecasting only 50% production capacity for the remainder of April. No word yet on May production. The main shipping port in Hitachi had been badly damaged by the tsunami and Nissan lost an estimated 2300 vehicles. No sure yet if that port will resume operations or if Nissan has made alternate arrangements.

It's anyone's guess as to how constrained the new vehicle supply will be this year. It all depends on how quickly they recover. IMHO, if you find a vehicle you like at a good deal then jump on it!

As for 2012, Nissan is very tight lipped about new models. You'll find out like the rest of us in August or September. We don't expect any changes (the 2011 model just got a refresh), but there is a good chance the price will increase.

For 2013 and beyond... word on the street is Rogue production will be moving to the USA to coincide with the redesign. This will either happen with MY 2013 or 2014. I expect to see new engines, possibly a hybrid or even pure electric.

Thank you for that info. I also saw mention of a 2013 redesign when they open the local USA factory. I don't think I can wait that long so 2011 or 2012 Rogue is what I'll be shooting for.

I hope inventory starts to come in because I've been searching for my exact specification for about 3 months now and in hindsight should have ordered it a while ago....now I think I'll just wait for inventory or 2012 edition to be released.
Thus far, whenever a possible vehicle was available I was being quoted (after rebates) $26750 to $27250...would had one for $26760 (before taxes) but the mileage didn't fit...oh well, I'll continue to search.

Again, thank you for the inputs.

You won't be dissatisfied with this color trust me. Even though the paint is not that durable, this color from personal experience only; I notice that it keeps a mirror like shine and it's nearly been 2 yrs. Of course I use liquid wax or spray type with occasional clay bar in certain spots. Nothing serious, but just clean here and there.

But majority of the time, I just like wiping my car down with a wet rag. You see dust more, no biggie. But I get alot of compliments just by how shiny it is.

I am sure the other colors are just as shiny. But I notice my Indigo Blue has a nice wet look just by wiping with a wet rag. It's a nice color indeed. But I do miss my pearl glow nissan maxima, didn't know much about dust until now. Had white cars most of the time. The Rogue is the first really dark color car I owned, but I do clean my family's darker color vehicles but never really noticed the dust and dirt since I never scrutinized as much as my own vehicle. :woot:

I just bought a 2011 Rogue earlier in the month, on 5 April, which was the last day for the 36 mos 0% finance incentive. Anyway, right after I bought it many of the Rogue invoice/sticker prices went up. It was between 1 and 2 percent.

My point being, I suspect Nissan and the other car companies will continue to make small price increases during the model year as their costs increase.

This news has been out for awhile, but Nissan once again confirmed that the all new 2013 Rogue will be built in Nissan's Smyrna Tennessee Plant:
As announced in January, production of the next-generation Rogue will begin in Smyrna by 2013...

If I knew ahead of time that the 2011 Rogue would have the optional navigation system, automatic headlights, climate control and spoiler, I would have waited....

My lease is up February 2013 so I'll be buying a new year 2013 something...Not sure if I'll get another Rogue.

I played the waiting game for 3 years! Kept wanting to wait for the better features to come out....mean while I was driving a hoopty and paying for repairs. If you keep waiting for next years features, you'll never get a car. I say buy fast and buy now!....or lease...so you can switch up every time the new model comes out. After 3 years i said enough was enough and got the 2011 rogue fully loaded for 26k.....Im glad I bought it last year, cause I doubt I can get it for that price now....I guess sometimes it can be costly to wait as well.
