Hey everyone!

I am the proud owner of a new 2011 SL Rogue. I absolutely love it but the volume only goes up to 31 and is not loud enough. Does anyone know a hack to allow for more volume?!

Thanks!!

wow, you think it is not loud enough? I am not able to put the volume half way before feeling that it is too loud.

Depends on how long and how loud you listen to music. I find the factory stereo goes 'flat' above 20... you loose a lot of high frequency response and in general sounds like crap.

There isn't much you can do with the stock system. If you want more volume, you need more power. The simplest way to do that is add an outboard amp with new speakers and perhaps a sub. This way you can keep the factory headunit with touch screen, nav, etc.

I would look for a reputable stereo installer to select components and install it for you. Unless you are handy at doing this yourself.

You don't need a new stereo or speakers, you need hearing aids.

I listen at 8-10 MAX.

My rogue came with the Bose stereo and subwoofer....do you think I would have the same problems you mentioned? also, do you know where the subwoofer is located?

The subwoofer is located inside the spare tire. Simply lift up the luggage floor and remove the cargo organizer (if you have one).

This "problem" is completely dependant on your personal preference and is highly subjective, if you're happy with your stereo then you have no problem!!

But you do have a different head unit so likely the listening experience will be different between a base stereo and the Bose, but I honestly haven't had a chance to compare them side by side. I have the base stereo and I think it sounds great for my needs, I don't crank it up any higher than 15 and normally listen to it much lower as I have kids with me.

So in my opinion there is no "problem" even with the base stereo, others disagree, draw your own conclusions.
