A week after i bought my 2011 Versa S I ordered the Sony CDX-GT550UI CD Player from crutchfield. I received it and installed it and the install bracket provided caused the bezel around the radio to bow out. NOT COOL! So i took it out and used the dremel to sand the install bracket down a bit and put it back in. Worked great but then i noticed a small gap at the top of the stereo. The Sony did not seem to sound quite as good as the factory cd player either i wonder why? Sony products usually sound great. So for now i took the Sony out and put the factory player back in.

Maybe the reason that it doesn’t sound good is because the deck is 4ohm and the factory speaker are 2ohm what do you think?

did you look at your speakers, or are you just going by past posts?

I just replaced speakers and head unit in my 2011 Versa S with base radio. My factory speakers are 4 ohm, cheap paper/fabric. I have pictures, but don't see a way to attachthem.. maybe because it's my 1st post. I won't knock them too much since they work great for a aftermarket speaker mounting brackets, once you rip out the speaker bits. I even soldered the new speaker wires to the tabs on the bracket, so i just plugged in factory speaker wire plug back in.

Also, pay attention to wire colors. The "ground wire is towards front of the car" doesn't work on 2011 Versa either. well, maybe on just one side of the car :)

Since you already have the new head unit, I would replace the speakers..

If you don't want to destroy your factory speakers to mount new ones, i've seen nice looking mounting brackets/spacers, but they are $20some a pair... but then you'll be cutting your factory speaker wires to splice into them..

My system: Pioneer DEH-6300UB radio, TS-A1673R front speakers, TS-A1643R rear speakers. I used Metra kit and wiring adapters.

As others said many times, try to listen before you buy.. If I did more research before placing my orders, I probably would have gotten the Polk 651 speakers.. I got to listen to both 651's and 1673's at Fry's and the Polks sounded little more... well rounded? to me, at least for some music..

I used the Scosche Kit and wiring adapters. The Scosche kit didn't work very well i had to take the dremel and cut on it to get my bezel peice around my a/c and heater controls to click back into place. How did the Metra Kit work? Would you recomend the Metra Kit? I was planning to order my speaker later on. I will probally order from Crutchfield as well b/c they include detailed instructions and any required spacers or brackets with your purchase of speakers.

Metra kit was ok. I picked it since i wanted the radio lower. If you mount the radio using the DIN cage, I don't think you need to modify anything. I ended up using their mounting adapters (ISO mounts???) since it placed the radio little further out, rather than almost sunk into the dash. Using their adapters, you need to dremel the front of them (Instructions point it out) to clear those tabs by air vent wheels, and two other tabs. I was lazy and snapped the 4 tabs off. I still should take the dash apart and adjust the mount if i can, since it's bit too far to right (had hard time getting the dash back on), and there is something on bottom left of radio that's not letting the dash trim snap back in, but it's barely noticeable... I was not able to use the radio's face trim, but that''s not the kit's fault, since the face trim is wider then the dash opening anyway...

Does Schosche kit let you adjust how far in/out the radio can go? I didn't see any way to do it with the Metra kit... the DIN cage doesn't work for that either, since it has flanges that would not clear the dash trim if you wanted the face of the radio in front of the dash.. I ended up returning the Pioneer MVH-8200 because it had a huge face and there was no way to bring it forward to have the face in front of the dash.. I would have to modify the radio's face and the adapter trim to have any hope of it fitting... Amazon claimed it would fit. I wonder if they claim it fits by default till someone says otherwise? I see Crushfield defaults to "does not fit", since most of the new X300 series Pioneers they just got say they won't fit, even though mine fit just fine, and some look practically same as the lower end X300 model they had for a while that shows it fitting.

The Schosche kits does not let you adjust how far in/out the radio can go. I may just sell my single Din Sony deck and go with a double din. I think it would be a much better fit.

is it different then this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scosche- ... 0395854156

the face looks bit different, and on the ebay one, it does look like you could adjust the depth of the radio if you don't use the DIN cage, or if you have a din cage that doesn't flare out in front.
