Last month when my daughter was in for Thanksgiving I drove her car to get and oil change and noticed a puddle of water in the back passenger side floor board. There was a bottle of water laying in it so we cleaned it up and assumed that it had leaked. She noticed once back at school it had formed again and that the front floorboard was wet as well. It has been raining non stop and she is home for break and I'm trying to figure out the issue because it is very wet. We have had the car since 2020 and not had this issue till now and the car is always parked outside.

Looked for the basics that pop up online, A/C drain which is fine, no clogged drains in the cowl area and under and she doesn't have a sunroof which was also a common problem I found online.
I removed the cowl and cleaned where it connects around the windshield and cleaned around the bottom of the windshield. I did notice what seemed to be an old gasket in the crease of the cowl that goes around the bottom of the windshield was falling apart. There is also no gasket or molding around the bottom of the windshield but I can't tell if there ever was one.
Removing the glove box inside I found where the water is dripping in. It is under the front right dash right beside where the speaker would go. Here is a link to a few pictures and a video of the leak. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Kd6nS662JBneqDLj8

Does anyone know if this could be from a bad windshield install that has just given way eventually, maybe a spot I am missing to clean out, the possible missing gasket/molding at the bottom of the windshield or possibly a silicone weld that has broken down? None of the videos I have found online are of any rogue before the body style change so the cowl area is different. Water drains into the tray or I've seen it called and airbox instead of a separate piece in the cowl itself and flows down the fender and out behind the tire, which it does.

Thanks for any help! Trying to avoid a costly trip to the mechanic for something that maybe simple and something I can fix.

That spot could definitely be from a bad lower or side seal on the windshield, or also from a cracked body seam where the hood ledge, firewall, and A-pillar base come together. Some gen2 Rogues built in Smyrna had a similar issue from insufficient sealant, the construction on the gen1 isn't dissimilar. Here's the bulletin for that:

Since you've eliminated the same obvious things we'd eliminate at the shop, the next step we'd take is to get the shield re-sealed. If no obvious leak point was found by the glassman, then we'd go chasing the body.

Thank you for your reply!
In efforts to avoid labor costs I have worked on sealing some of the visible/reachable spots seen in the bulletin you linked with and silicone adhesive sealant. I have added pics to that link in the original post to show the areas where I ended up applying it too. I will post to pics of the sealant job soon(It won't look real pretty but each spot should be sealed).

FYI, a the rogue floorboard will hold around 8 to 10 gallons of water. There is a flap of carpet under the front passenger seat that exposes the padding. I cut a small hole into that and could feel a lot of water in the channels. Stuck the shopvac hose in and started to remove it. I now believe this problem has been going on for a lot longer than previously thought and just built up enough to start showing.

Fingers crossed the last efforts fixed it and I wont have to check the wheel hub framing for leaks. I ran some water down the top and windshield and did not see the drip start up again. I have a fan constantly running to dry and evaporate the moisture. I will post an update once it dry and I can really tell. Just need it to quit raining for a few days!

You're most welcome. Yah, people don't realize that there are foam spacers underneath the carpet, so the floorpan will hold a lot more water than most folks imagine before it shows up on the surface. Short of pulling up the carpet for drying and bleaching (which is actually what should be done), there are plastic bung plugs in 2~3 places on each side of the pan that you can poke holes in from underneath, then seal back up with RTV after draining. That's the quick-and-dirty way to drain out any flood car.
