Hi Everyone!

Just bought my first Nissan and I am very excited but when I going through the manual and setting up the car I didn't see an interface cable for my Ipod. Contacted the dealer and they seem clueless because they told me that only the SV and SL come with a USB cable and they don't seem to understand what I mean by the interface cable
Doing some research and I am not finding anything concrete. Anyone out there with an S model can that provide some input?

Thanks!

Our 2011 SV didn't come with one either. But if you have an iPod then you already have the cable...it's the one you use to hook it up to your computer to update and such. If you only have one and don't want to bring it back and forth I'm pretty sure most places that carry Apple products will have one for you to buy. Hope this helps.

Hello FuzzyDoo!

I am not sure what model you have ( Sorry, I just read that you have an S model, I should have read more throughly. Perhaps your audio port is still in the armrest. ) but my 2011 SV has a USB port, and an audio port which I can use for my iPod. They are in the bottom of the Armrest along with a secondary power outlet.

A totally stupid place to put these desirable ports to be sure, right underneath all of the 'vital, gotta have, stuff' that you want to put in your armrest box, but there they are.

Good luck

I just bought a 2011 Rogue SV and for some reason when I use the iPod USB interface with my iPod Touch 4th Gen (with current iPod firmware) I get an annoying popping sound in my speakers every few seconds. The sound does not occur when set to FM radio or even when I plug the same exact iPod Touch into the stereo via the AUX input. So, I'm thinking it has something to do with the USB iPod connection to the radio.

Also, my car didn't come with a USB cable like the car manual "seems" to imply it should have (page 4-37 "Your vehicle is equipped with a specialized cable for connecting the iPod to your vehicle audio unit") so I'm just using the USB synch/charging cable that came with my iPod Touch from Apple. I went ahead and bought a new cable to rule that out but haven't tried it yet. Also, I just got the car last night so I haven't had a chance to contact the dealer.

Anybody else have a popping sounds when using the iPod interface?
Anybody's 2011 Rogue come with an iPod USB cable?

USB is better anyways if you don't use the iPod you could charge your smartphone without the car charger.
I have a 11' SV AWD and Didn't come with the cable. the Murano came with the cable which is useless.
I asked Nissan was the Rogue Zune compatible and they said yes. "It wasn't"

TaiLuu, I take it your USB iPod interface works flawlessly then. I'm thinking there may be a cut in the cord between the port and the stereo itself hidden underneath the dash/console/carpet. Need to call the dealership but I'm afraid they will say something about the iPod Touch 4th Generation not working as stated in the manual.

Was able to get a co-worker with an iPhone 4 to plug his device into my Rogue iPod interface and with that there was no popping sounds. So, I imagine it has something to do with either the power/filtering on iPod Touch 4th Gen or just my particular iPod :-(

My SL 2011 didn't come up any cables either. I simply used the USB charging cable that came with the IPod Nano and it works fine; so far no there's been no popping sounds or any other issues.

I'd understand how annoying that'd be though if I were you.

Is it possible to go to the dealership and find another Rogue to test out your IPod Touch 4th Gen? At least that way, you can find out if it's a common issue with the Rogue, or if it's just your vehicle. If it's just your vehicle, then maybe you can request (under warranty) for them to fix it?
