In addition to the items I mentioned in an earlier post, we have come across two more items to mention. The first is a wildly inaccurate gas gauge, the traditional kind, not bars. The first half of the tanks appears to give a good reading but after that, the needle drops with surprising quickness. One does not get the same mileage in the bottom half as the top. I don't see any sense in replacing it since it does work, but it needs keeping an eye on. Secondly, road noise is terrible. It is as if there is little or no insulation from it and it sounds is if there is a back window (or both windows!) open above 60 km/h. We're throwing some blankets into the trunk area to see if they make any difference. Other than these two items, we are very pleased with the vehicle. A pleasant surprise is how well the all-season tires are handling the ice/snow conditions here (southern Ontario). We'll run on them the rest of the year but get snow tires this fall.

Welcome to the NICOClub Rogue forums johny_maple!

The gas gauge phenomenon you are witnessing is nothing unusual. Many other cars I have driven do the same. I think it's part psychological... the way we perceive it , and partly due to the way the gauge functions. Regardless, the gauge does work and will tell you when you are close to empty.

As for the road noise, is this your first hatchback type of vehicle? The open cargo area tends to amplify noise... like a cave. It's quite apparent if you have come from driving a sedan. You could try purchasing Nissan's accessory cargo cover. That will help a bit. The other common complaint is the stock Continental tires are very noisy, esp on wet roads. Many have switched brands when shopping for replacement tires and have noticed a huge reduction in tire noise.

Enjoy your Rogue!

I'll second the issue with the Continentals. As much as I love Nissan's, I've always hated that their tire of choice seems to be Continental. They are by far the noisiest tires I've ever seen. Both of the Altimas my wife has owned came with Conti's stock, and as soon as we replaced them, the car got a lot quieter. Thankfully, my SL came with Dunlops. If you're really desperate, you could always look into something like Dynamat or Hushmat...

Thank you for the replies and the info therein. This is out first hatchback but prior to that, we had an Explorer and a Corolla wagon. Way back when, we also had a Dodge van complete with front air dam, fender scoops and the interior was fully carpeted :) None of them were as noisy as the Rogue. The tire issue has caught me by surprise re: noise. We have always run on Michelins. That's most likely what we'll have as of spring, 2012. As for the gas gauge, I've been keeping track.
After taking delivery: 4th quarter, 200km; 3rd, 100 km; 2nd, 100 km; filled up before empty.
Second tank: 4th quarter, 240 km; 3rd, 80 km; bottom half still to go.

The Conti's are seriously bad when it comes to road noise. Hell, with my wife's 06 we replaced them with relatively inexpensive Futuras from Pep Boys (which are made by Cooper, I believe) and they made a world of difference with the noise... Hopefully future tire replacement makes it better for you in the future...

Nothing wrong there: Works as any other gas gauge.
It has been the same in every car I have owned or driven as rental.
