Been experiencing a weird vibration after getting to high gear, then accelerating. Initially thought it could be a tire balance or suspension issue. Had it at dealrship and they mentioned there was a TSB out for it. They tried the fix in the TSB and said the vibfation is still there and need to talk to headquarters.
I Looked it up and found ITB-11-020, but cant find details of the proposed fix. Anyone got more info on this?

Thanks for the response! I'm always worried when I hear about an ecm reprogram; I have a Dodge Ram that called for one to address ping issues -and well, they just adjusted the timing, making the truck gut-less.

This one sounds more like trans shift points etc. So far, the dealer followed the TSB, but it didnt fix the issue. I'm waiting to hear back about what they try next and I'll keep you all updated.

Well I'm back...

After performing the TSB the issue didn't go away, so the dealer kept the vehicle and talked to head technician. He walked them through some stuff and ultimately had them drop the transmission pan to look for metal. Well they found some metal so they ordered a new transmission from Infiniti at a cost of $12,000 (covered under warranty). It took a couple days to get shipped and installed and I now have the vehicle back.

What worries me is the actual cause was never determined. Dealer stated that they just don't tear down transmissions anymore; see metal, modern vehicle under warranty = brand new (not rebuilt) transmission. I'm surprised Infiniti themselves wouldn't want to know and take down the old trans, but then again I'd probably never hear about it anyway.

I'm just real uneasy about what happens in another 45K miles and I'm not under warranty.

well first thing if first .. they say its brand new i seen them lie all the time.. in your case by being so new i have to say 12,000 Dollars is steep price for a issue they going to be happening a lot in other cars and trucks.. if you were out of warranty then i would be pissed.. i think these cars and trucks are so advance that the techs cant keep up any more.. there for need new training and stop wasting customer time and money.. im glad you under warranty if feel for those that are not and come out of pocket.. im a tech myself so im trying to take the new 2012 class for ASE cost a lot.. im happy it got solved bro.. thanks for keeping us informed......
