The accessories catalog for the the 2011 QX56 shows a "Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensor". Does anyone know anything about this product? Is this a simple plug-n-play unit? If so, how and where? If not, what does it take to install it?

It installs to the right of the steering column.

You have to remove the lower instrument cover and make some wire taps and connections to the fuse panel.

Not plug-n-play, but doable if you're comfortable with electrical work.

HI All,
would like to learn more about this feature. im preparing to get a 2012 and i can find one with everything i want, save this add-on

to those who have it, is it something worth looking for in a model? would an aftermarket alarm system do the same or better?

can a dealer REALLY install this? or should it be left up to a factory install.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to NICOclub! The staff is thrilled to have you here in the QX56 Forum!

I can honestly say I don't think I have ever found one with it on from the factory, I am sure the dealer can easily install it. I think it is a Port Installed Option anyway (if on the original sticker) which means they install it at the port when it arrives off the ship. Dealer can easily handle this one.

Enjoy the new ride, and please post some photos here when you have possession of the new beat!
