Hi everyone,
I found out today that a 2011 Infiniti QX56 that I had ordered back in July (I test drove one the first day it came out and ended up ordering one because the dealer only had one -- it actually had two but had already sold one by the time I dropped by) with a projected build date of August and estimated arrival date this month.
However, just the other day I got a phone call from the dealer telling me that the Nissan factory in Japan had shut down for two weeks because of Golden Week, and as a result my order would be delayed until the following month. When I went to go research Golden Week, however, I saw that Golden Week is actually in May. I have no reason to distrust my dealer because the production delay means my dealer isn't getting a lot of cars this month (and will probably be hurting in sales). Is it possible that Golden Week affected production that far down the line, or could there have been some other delay halting production for two weeks?
I remember seeing something in the news a couple months ago where Nissan had to shut down production for something like three days because it had a parts shortage (I believe it was a computer chip from Europe, IIRC).
