Wow, MPG is not as good as I was hoping, so far the best MPG average on a full tank has been 16 and this is with heavy highway miles.

What are you guys getting? I'm using Premium fuel.

16 is not bad. On my Armada (heavier vehicle, regular fuel) I am getting 14.5 mpg on mostly highway miles......but I have to be honest, I am not exactly light on the gas pedal, but I am not a total psycho either.

I know the sticker suggests an impossibly high ~20MPG Highway, but I'd be happy getting 16 as you are. I currently average 14.8 per the computer and that is with ~85% highway miles.

How fast do you drive on the highway though?

Do we have to use Premium Fuel? It is only recommended.

Good question, I wonder if we should try mid grade and see if the MPG drops. I drove 90 mph for 30 mins and averaged 14 MPG.

I am avaraging about 15.2 today (Back and Forth)when I took it to work. It's a 15 miles drive one way hitting a variety of road conditions which includes Highway, Freeway and normal streets.

I'm averaging 17.6 which I'm very happy with. Mostly highway miles averaging between 60 - 70 mph. Also my commute to work an back involves a gradual drop of 1000 ft in elevation and then climbing the 1000 ft in return.

With the price of gas going up and some experts are stating $5.00/gallon by the end of the year, for those of us with an Armada or QX, this isn't great news.

You know, I am thinking the sane thing, but what are my real alternatives? Pathfinder, FX, Murano? Really gas mileage is not that much better in the grand scheme of things.

The U.S. will have to starting tapping our own oil!

+1

Do you know if we opened up Alaska, Alaska alone would be the 7th largest exporter of oil in the world! Imagine if took the gloves off for the entire country...California, gulf of Mexico, easter seaboard, South Dakota, etc. We'd have $0.82 gas! :)

It would be insane, but they only want to use our resources as a very last resort.

After a 1,000 miles, 15 mpg, mix of local and highway -- however, most of the miles were logged round trip from Las Vegas to San Diego where there are definite elevation changes throughout the drive.

That is not too bad, at only 1000 miles there certainly is hope that your mileage will improve. I am able to keep my Armada right around 14.5 or slightly higher, and the 2011 QX should be a bit better then that.
