2011 Quest SL Cigarette socket power

Have a question.
I drive a quest SL with dvd entertainment.
My cigarette lighter sockets is always on... Which is a pain.
Last week, kept my dashcam on and totally drained my battery.

Anyways, I was in my friends 2011 or 12 SL without the DVD entertainment system.
His cigarette socket power turned off as he turned the engine off.

Strange to see same trim (SL) with a different spec on the DC socket.

Is there a way to change the constant ON to shut down as I turn off the engine?
Any advise will be appreciated !

Only if you comfortable doing some rewire work. The easiest solution is to get a splitter with a built in switch. Here's a three-way on Amazon with separate on//off switches for each socket.
