2011 Quest passenger air bag off light constantly on.

The air bag off light has been on for weeks. The seatbelt light also illuminates and stays on unless the passenger belt is clicked in - same as when you put something on passenger seat. Looks like the seat sensor is malfunctioning. Any ideas????

You need someone to scan the vehicle's airbag system with an advanced diagnostic scan tool and see what Diagnostic Trouble Codes are present. These codes will point you in the right direction. A cheap OBDII scanner will generally not work for the airbag system.

If the seat was removed at some point a Zero Point Reset will have to be performed so that the occupant sensor knows what no person in the seat feels like. I believe this requires the factory scan tool. If not then you most likely have a fault in the seat occupancy sensor.
