New member here. I've searched the forums, and can't find this topic, but please accept my apologies if I missed it.
A few months ago, stopping short in a near miss on the DC Beltway, liquid made its way from my cup of Dunkin all over the front dash, and some found its way inside the climate control panel (which looks like this: http://www.nissanusa.com/content/dam/ni ... STb027.jpg). Not surprisingly, not long afterwards, the display stopped functioning, though the controls themselves still work.
After much researching, I have identified the correct part no. (27500-1JA1A) and have found used suppliers online for 1/3 or less the Nissan new OEM price of $392. What I have NOT been able to find is information on the removal of the old part, and the installation of a replacement.
I presume that there is either a hidden screw, or an appropriate pry to, to allow the panel to pop out, and a simple plug behind it, like a radio on many cars. But I can't find any facts to back my presumption up. I can find a pry tool kit for this car that probably contains the right tool, but again, absent any facts, I'm left guessing.
Does anyone have any experience with this they'd care to share? This subsystem appears to be identical in all the newer quests since 2011.
Many thanks.
