I'm a long time lurker, finding some of the best info on Pathfinders right here.
Today, I cannot find an answer through searching, so I am asking directly.
Ok, so I recently bought a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder S (I got an amazing deal on it, and it looks almost brand new) after driving a 2001 LE around for the past 7 years. I found that the S stands for STRIPPED, as there is nothing beyond power windows on this thing, but its 4X4, and it gets better mileage than its older counterpart (which I still have).
So, going from fully loaded to stripped left me missing a few key features that I considered "had to have".
1) a radio I can play my iPhone through (in other words, has to minimally have a AUX in- which the factory radio did NOT have.)
2) foglamps
3) auto-headlights
Installed a Pioneer AVH 4700, that plays directly through a USB connection. Using a ProClipUSA.com mount and dock.
Bought factory fog lamp kit off ebay
Bought factory headlight control stick with Auto, and Fog lamp control
bought a "sentinel sensor" for automatic headlight activation (yup, that is what it's listed as at the dealership), and much later, the mounting piece for the top of the dash.
So now I have my fog lamps, I have my radio, but I cannot find the connecting wire for the sentinel sensor so I can use the auto setting on the control stick.
I know it's in there somewhere, and i have seen it on wiring diagrams, but locating it inside the dash is a different story all together.
I followed the main wire bundle coming from the BCM, but cannot find a branch off of it with a connector for the sensor.
Am I looking in the wrong place? and is the wire running with the bundle, passing behind the radio frame, or is it located much deeper in the dash, behind the AC ducts?
