Hello , my 2011 pathfinder LE has a low idle when it warms up . The idle is rough when waiting at a stop light and seems low . The idle is fine when the engine is cold. I have cleaned the mass air-flow sensor , intake runners , throttle body and changed air filter . I have changed intake gaskets , spark plugs . I have checked for vacuum leaks and found none . Battery is new and alternator is new . I have just completed a 1000 mile ride with trailer in tow and had no problems except low idle at stoplights .Does Anybody have a clue as to what could be going on ? Thank-you

It's kind of hard to say for sure without more diagnostics. I know your ECM ignores the O2 and air/fuel sensors until the vehicle is warmed up but I'd be guessing if either of those components had anything to do with your idle being low. For your '11 Pathfinder, 575 to 675 RPM at idle is normal. Lower than 575 would be an issue. You may be able to do a few learning procedures to see if these help adjust your idle to where it should be.
Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning
Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning
Idle Air Volume Learning
These three adjustments are easy to perform if you follow the steps indicated on page EC-25 of the FSM. No tools are needed. Just follow the steps and preparation exactly as written.

thank-you for the reply . I did the throttle valve closed position learning when I cleaned out the throttle body and disconnected it.I will try the rest .

When I got my 2008 I noticed the low idle as well. Almost feels like it is going to stall. I did a ton of research and found it is normal. As long as the idle doesnt dip below 575 there is nothing really wrong. Some folks suggest taking it to the dealer and have them set the idle 50 rpm higher. At some point, I will probably do this as I have a heat shield somewhere that rattles sometimes at idle. Drives me crazy.

If you have a way to check the idle using the obd2 port, see if it stays above 575. I use a cheap bluetooth obd2 adapter and the Torque app on my android phone. If you have a iphone, you will need a wifi obd2 adapter.

If you bump the "target idle" higher, be sure to remember you did it and let your mechanic know. Most Nissans won't execute an IAVL if the target idle or target timing has been altered, but the vehicle won't tell you what the matter is. It will just sit there for awhile going, "duh," and then the IAVL procedure will time out without completing. Anytime it needs an IAVL, you'll need to restore the target adjustments to 0, then bump them back up when you're finished.

Thank-you for the responses .I have changed 3 heatsheild clamps that rusted out under the vehicle and the worst ones to get to were the ones on the exhaust manifold. I just used small plumbing hose clamps on the screws to hold/squeeeze them in place. Maybe it's a temporary solution but it's the easiest one besides replacing the sheilds altogether ( don't want to go that route) .. I haven't tried to bump up the revs yet but I do understand how that would help since I don't have the problem when it gets colder outside .I never noticed the drop in revs at idle during last winter when I purchased the pathfinder . I will try to do this once the weather heats up and it starts to do the dips again .Anybody have an idea on what inexpensive reader would be able to do it ? I don't want to purchase an expensive one , and the one I have just reads codes, Thanks in advance

The best bang for the buck scan tool I have purchased is the Foxwell NT301. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UJV3E12
For all the features it has, it's a bargain at less than $70. However, the means by which you would be able to change the target idle is going to be a far more advanced ($$$) tool, at least several times the cost.
