My name is Kristen, 18. I bought my 2011 Nissan Versa back in March. The color is Red Alert!
I'm really glad I found this forum. I've been wanting to do stuff to my car but never really got around to it; but I'm starting on it soon! Any ideas would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum! There are a lot of GREAT how-to's and guides for just about every upgrade available. Lots of people (including me) have "show off" threads and you can see how our cars have progressed over time. Are you looking to add some more performance or some more style to your Versa? Also, give us some more details on your V!

Welcome Kristen!

Tinting the windows are a great first mod to do :) Helps make the Versa feel less like a fishbowl ;)

I'll post pictures of the inside as soon as I get a change to clean the car.

I'm looking to add more style to start off with. Sadly, it's an automatic. I would of had to pay an extra $500 just for a manual. But I'm really surprised of the power that comes out of that thing!

@iluvmyVersa08 - do you have your windows tinted?

use photobucket to host pictures, its wicked easy and takes like a minute to setup an account. I have the Automatic too, so I know how it is. I bought mine used so I didn't have a choice of manual vs auto at all. I prefer it over the CVT though. I test drove a newer one with CVT and it just didn't feel right. Tinting is a pretty cool mod, but my V isn't tinted yet. I installed a new stereo first, and now I'm working on performance and some style. I like the red versa, it looks AWESOME compared to my silver.. Do you have the sedan or the hatch?

I'm gonna change my license plate frames first because I still have the ones from the dealer on it. And I'm taking the dealer emblem off. Is there anything I can use to help take the glue off so I don't scratch my car?
I have the hatch. I don't like the way the sedans look. I've always been a hatch person. My first car was an escort hatch, then I had a civic hatch, and now the nissan. I had a ranger too but I hated driving it so I sold it, lol.

wow, 18 and on your 4th car? haha. I'm not a big fan of the sedan either, but the hatch would have cost me too much.

To get the dealer emblem off: If it is a solid peice of plastic, like the nissan badge, wait for a hot day and use fishing line to work under, sort of like flossing your teeth. If it is a stick on emblem, you're going to have to work at it with your fingernails. You can use Goof-off afterwards to remove the adhesive residue and to help get the badge off. Just make sure the adhesive remover is safe to use on painted surfaces.

Haha, yeah. I pay $308 a month for my car. But it's so amazing that it's well worth the money. And all of my cars were like junk cars. The escort was my first car that I got when I was 16. It had a hole in the radiator so we patched it to last until we had the money to get a new one. My bro took it out and completely blew the car up. I drove my moms for a while then got the civic. We found out the frame was completely rotted and there was no way to get the money to fix it, so we sold it. Then the ranger. Whoever had the ranger before us converted it to an automatic and completely screwed it up. We had it in the shop for months trying to fix it. When I got it back it was acting worse than when I first took it in, so I sold it. I plan on keeping the versa for a long time. It's one of my fav cars besides the civic, lol.

My first car was junk too, so I know how it is. I wish I had bought a new versa instead of used, but I got a pretty good deal on mine, so whatever :)

Yes I have my windows tinted ... that was done within the first few months of ownership. Since then I've spent a lot on this little car to make it my own. It's come a long way ...

I just took off my summer frames (the 'blinged' out ones) and put smoked covers on for the winter. Nice and cheap and protects the frames. Removing the dealer frames is a great idea; unless you really love advertising for them.

Do you have an S or SL model? Did you finance the car? Over how many months?

Pretty sure the S? It's an automatic. It has power locks/windows, cruise control, aux for ipod.. I financed it over 72 months I believe.

My air freshener I picked up at Bath&Body. It smells like cupcakes!

Finally, after almost a year of having my car, I'm finally putting rims on it. I'm pretty sure I'm putting gold rims on her. I'm so excited!

I'll take a picture of them this week and post it. I'm not exactly sure, but they're gold. They're on my boyfriend's Integra, so I have to wait until he puts steelies on his before I can have the gold ones.

Soon to be new rims. They just need bent and little cleanin', but they're beautiful!

Nice wheels. Red and bronze is a good combo.

I wouldn't install bent wheels on my car. It's your car but be safe about it. Save up a little bit more and buy some nicer wheels.
