2011 Nissan Rogue SV valve cover/gasket replace?

Hello all, my daughter's 11 rogue sv college car engine had been vibrating more than usual for a bit and then she was driving and it was misfiring and lurching forward . Luckily she got it back to her place. I went up there a couple days ago(her school is a 4 hrs drive) I had bought new plugs to change them out thinking to start there. I pulled the coil up from the first chamber and it was full of oil. I had never seen this before. I pulled the next coil out and it also had oil in the chamber but not as much. Researching has led me to believe it needs a new valve cover and gasket. Can anyone that has seen what I have seen verify that a new cover and gasket is the solution? I am trying to get my mind prepared to drive up there again to do this because a local garage wanted $765 just for the gasket not even replacing the cover.

Yep, you have leaky skirt seals. I have no idea what that shop was talking about, because the gasket is just for the perimeter seal and won't resolve your problem with the spark plug wells. The skirt seals are integral with the cover, so the cover needs to be replaced.

I did this valve cover job on mine after watching several YouTube videos. Have a second car so I took apart one day. Cleaned and rtv second day and put back together third.

Not a big job at all, especially if you have an impact to help tear it apart. I did my 09 Altima, same engine. I believe it took an hour or so. Apparently I need to open up a shop replacing these and hope for 1 job a day, clearing a $600 plus profit. Fkn crooked shops!
