We bought a CPO 2011 Nissan Rogue Krom AWD from a dealer and my wife loves the car. Unfortunately I've noticed over the last 6-8 months or so that the mileage isn't really close to what's advertised by Nissan. She gets at best 18-19mpg in the city, and only around 24-25mpg on the highway. Isn't it supposed to be higher than that? I've done all the work on it so far, regular oil changes, replaced battery (since it had the original 84 month one from Nissan) etc etc. Nothing seems to make any difference. Anyone have any ideas?

Make sure she's not driving it in "sport" mode. Is the air filter clean/new? Has it shown any CEL codes? Do you have the stock wheels on it?

It depends on your driving habits. 18-19 MPG city may be a indicator of a lot of stop and go traffic. The highway MPG sounds about right. I'd also recommend checking your tires. AWD models are suppose to be less efficient than than FWD, so you're looking around 21 city and 26-27 hwy.

I have always gotten 19mpg in the city.

Is your Rogue loaded up with stuff? More weight = less efficient.

Like TaiLuu said check the tires.

I would also suggest changing your spark plugs now. Manual says to do it at 100K, but I bet that would help.

Clean the Mass Air Flow sensor. Replace the engine air filter. Clean the throttle body.

Tire pressure MUST be to spec for your wheel size too. This can make a huge difference in MPG.

My 08 gets around 20-21 this is mostly around town driving some hwy, A/C almost always on. The last month or so ive noticed a significant drop in mpg, i was getting between 16-19. On the hwy id get around 27, sometimes a little better. I figured it was due to it getting hotter and my A/C working harder being on more. I changed my plugs, air filter, checked my tire pressure often... The last few tanks I was down to 15-17, I attributed this to idling here and there with the AC on and it jist being very hot.

Then the transmission went, i don't know if there is a correlation but i suspect there is. I'll let you know, I'm hoping for a call before 3 today that my car is done, if not I'll get it back Tuesday.
