New to Nissan and looking for info on drive ability issue. This has expanded as well. I first started by asking a Nissan tech some questions about lose of power. This has occurred in Feb-May the power failed.we would be driving and would give it more gas and nothing. then we noticed that it started hesitating from stop sign. I started to look into it and we could not even drive it. It did not have the power to pass. I put it in the garage
to work on it. Went and talked with 2 different service tech from Nissan and they told me that my rear timing cover had probably blown the oil passage gasket. we discussed the symptoms and I bought a Botch scanner. The reading they asked about where the timing at idle and fuel. The timing was running about -11.5 to -13.5 deg in both banks. I had several error codes that they questioned. I will fill in those codes when I can get that info from my scanner. I know it had to do with cam timing. They they went and had me test oil pressure at idle and warm. It was around 18- 20 lbs. they said it should be in the 40's and that is why they said that it was probably the oil passage gasket on rear timing cover. I commenced to fix the problem and the engine and transmission was out. Fixed at that time both head gaskets were leaking. put new head gaskets and replaced a couple of timing components. I pressure test the rear timing cover and it was ok. All the parts went back together ok. I put engine and transmission back in and now it won't even start. I charged the battery and it is up to 13.4 volts. I have tried to do the relearn on air and pedal position. I do not know if I had done them right on not. I tried more than one time. any help or if you have any other questions I would be open to them. Thank Eric
