2011 Murano - Major issue with XM

2011 Murano with Nav. Comes with 3 month trial of XM radio. This free trial does NOT include XM Nav Traffic or XM Nav Weather. Anyway, I have called XM multiple times to have the XM Nav Traffic and XM Nav Weather turned on and they (XM) have not been able to activate the two mentioned features. I am willing to pay for them but XM just can't figure out how to activate same for me.. XM states they recently introduced a new "computer" on their end that may be the culprit..

Has anyone here with a new 2011 Murano been successful in getting the XM Nav Traffic and XM Nav Weather turned on? If so please tell me how you managed to do so.

Well, FINALLY after many, many hours on the phone and hours sitting in a Nissan Service waiting room my issue was finally rectified. Problem was on XM's end and it took many, many, many calls to XM Techs by me and the two dealerships that were trying to help me to finally get a hold of an XM tech that actually knew how to fix the issue. Anyway I now have XM Weather and Nav.. To be honest with all here the features do not impress me and I'm in doubts I will keep after the 3 mo. free trial. I may keep the XM Weather but this I am not sure.

That is strange, I wonder what the issue was. We have the Nav Traffic and Weather as an option on our Infiniti, and as XM subscribers we decided we had no interest in the weather and Nav traffic. The weather updates were almost annoying during our free trial, and we are always checking the weather on our iPhone anyway.

I also bought a 2011 last week and weather / traffic is not enabled. I don't care for the features so don't matter to me

Well, my Nav Traffic and Nav Weather suddenly stopped working. On 3/28/11 it stopped but the XM radio continued. I went to XM's web site to check my account and mysteriously I have a 3 month renewal of XM Everything effective 3/28/11 (no call by me to them and no charge for same to me) but no mention of Nav Traffic or Nav Weather availability there. Today, 3/31/11, I called XM (USA Rep) and the gal states she sees my account but no possibility of her adding Traffic or Weather as their (XM) system shows no go for my 2011 Murano with Nav Traffic or Weather. As XM has said repeatedly for 5 months now they are working on it.. Gal states that again today. Anyway, got the gal to comp me an additional 3 months of XM Everything and of course as mentioned I have no Nav Traffic or Weather or ability to add same. What a mess... Really a good thing I care little about Nav Traffic and Weather..

4/1/11 Well, at about 1pm today, I was lying by the pool in Daytona Beach, Fl. Weather is terrific today so I was working on my tan. 8-) Anyway, cellphone rings and it is a tech gal from XM. She asks do you have time to work on getting your Nav Traffic and Nav Weather working. She wants me to go to the Murano and turn on the XM radio/Nav. I head out to the car and within 10 minutes she had the Nav Traffic and Nav Weather turned on once again. Stated I will have 3 months free until 7/1/11. States there should be no further issues as she had me on a full fledged plan/program now and not the freebe new vehicle 3 mon. trial. She said use and in 3 months decide whether to continue with all or any of the XM offering. I went to my online XM account just now and found the following noted there...
"XM NavTraffic and XM NavWeather with XM Everything Plus the Best of SIRIUS 3 Month" 4/1/11 - 7/1/11.

I mentioned to the tech gal that there were others on this forum in the same predicament that I was in regarding to XM Traffic and XM Weather. I asked her who they could call. She said call her department at 1-866-557-8553 . Call would go to next avail. tech. She said her dept. was the ones that knew all the ins and outs...
