I have these pathetic 45W halogen driving lights and I want to replace them. My Xeon HID headlights overpower them and I need something bright with good range to enhance the headlights. Would prefer to keep the mods at a minimum and just replace either the bulbs or assembly.

Any ideas?

I am currently running PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow Bulb. Cuts through the rain very well, can't wait to test it in the snowy winters.

Your range and spread are more dependent on the reflector bowl and/or lens design. Without something custom, you have to change the bulbs to get better performance. You have 4 options for the bulbs that I am aware of.

Replacement bulb - I am not aware of any H8/H11 bulbs that will give you output anywhere near the factory HIDs. High-quality bulbs like PIAA are the best bet.

HID Kit - This is probably the cheapest route with best performance per dollar. At under $45 shipped for a decent plug and play HID kit it's hard to beat.

LED Bulb - There is a HUGE range of styles and prices from $5 - $200 with performance mostly matching. The higher end models like THIS and THIS look promising.

LED-equipped replacement housing - These are complete housings like THIS. Generally pricey. I have not read any reviews on them yet.

I have to replace a bulb, so I'm deciding what i'm going to do. I like the replacement housing option. The Philips LED bulb was nice also, on the high end of the price range.

I have these and so far so good. Nice match to the hid headlights, but if you want real effective fog cutting light, get some yellow bulbs.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I just recently installed these into my car:

Partsam LED Headlight Conversion Kit - All Bulb Sizes - 5000LM Genuine Cree XML2 LED - Replaces Halogen & HID Bulbs - H8 / H11

2500 Lumens of bright white light that is pretty focused and not just an explosion of light! They are a tad brighter than my XEON HIDs but they give me much better peripheral lighting and much better lighting in front. Great for late night runs in canyons and in heavy rain.

I highly recommend them for the M37. Got em at Amazon for $45.99. :mike
