New M owner here. I took my 62,000 mile M37X to Thompson Raceway in Thompson Ohio today just for kicks and to get a baseline.
I didn't manual shift, just left it in drive in Sport mode with tc off. I've heard holding shifts to 7500 will run quicker but I wasn't trying to set any records so 7000 auto shifts it was.
Best pass was a 14.2502 @ 97.74 with a 2.1148 60'. RT was .147 which is a bit slow but I haven't been to the track for 2 years.
DA was around 1900' so corrected times are around 13.9 @ 99. Pretty much what I expected for a totally stock M.
This is almost identical to what my 68 4 speed Gto ran 25 years ago when it was bone stock. Somehow it seemed so much faster back then.
I got totally smoked by an Audi S4 that ran 11.34 @ 121.8 that only God himself knows what was done to it. I also came up against a Dodge Durango SRT that went 12.59 @ 101.14! I did easily beat a V6 Challenger that went 14.81 @ 93.
Cars are getting faster every year. A Hellcat Charger went high 9's @ 144!!! looking totally stock.

Nice job good to see another M going to the track . My G ran 13.8 or 9 in that da . I ran 13.47 in -850 so you can definitely get into the 13's.

My track got rained out today was hoping for 12.80's

I didn't see any other Infinitis there. Lots of Mustangs,Camaros, and Challengers though.
I've taken just about every car I've ever owned (well over 20) to the track at least once. Never could understand throwing every part you could find at a car and not running it against a clock at a sanctioned track, either straight or with turns, and getting some numbers.
To each his own I guess.

Thompson Raceway is the only drag strip I've ever been to. I went there a few times on Test-N-Tune days with some Panther members (Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Marauder) and with my built up Grand Marquis I was running high 14s all day long on a high density altitude day. Was a hell of alot of fun when we were able to hot-lap 5 times in a row despite the ridiculousness.

I'm happy knowing my V-6 ride now can pull low 14s or better stock. I hope the 2018 version has a VR30DDTT and run mid 13s all day long :)

Cool to see a M at the track, with that being said...

You pretty much went against cars "tuned" from the factory so to speak. Audi's S line along with the Dodges' SRT are those manfacturer's hi performance lines.

Would be interesting to see what the 5.6 would do against those cars or better yet Infiniti's twin turbo either 300hp or 400hp .... :naughty: :naughty:

(Would love to see an Infiniti version of the Nissan-GTR)
