2011 M37 LED License Plate Lights

2 questions:

Can someone tell me how to change the license plate lights on a 2011 M37?

Also, can someone tell me what kind of LED bulbs I have to get if I want to switch to the white LED license plate lights like on a Lexus?

I am new to this forum and have read the license plate light threads, but they all seem to be for older M's not 2011+.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I just recently replaced license/door/dome lights on my 2012 M37S. If you're looking to swap lights here are the ones you'll need:

License plate lights: http://www.v-leds.com/5K-WHITE-HIGH-...-p7114849.html (25.6MM long - Anything longer will not fit)

I went with the 5K lights, there are 6K lights but wasn't happy with the color output.

As for installation, all you need is a screwdriver to unscrew the 2 screws for the license plate light housing. Simple plug & play.

Same for the doors/dome, just need to wedge in a flat head screwdriver to remove the house.

Tiggaman, the 5K lights that you got from Vleds... were they a "pure" white (as opposed to the ones that have a blue tint or hue to them)? I want a pure white light, similar to the ones you see on newer lexuses.
