Both foglights are cracked; bought aftermarket replacements (as recommended in a related M35 thread). To me, installation does not appear as easy as described for a older G or M model - looks like i need to remove the plastic covering of the front wheel well. Am I correct in this? If so I'll probably ask the dealer to handle this at the next service, unless this is easier than it appears. Does anyone have experience in asking a dealer to replace broken OEM foglifgts with non-Infiniti foglights? The lights are made for a Nissan and are DOT approved and the car is under warranty. Thanks.

Update - I replaced the foglights myself.

I bought after-market lights from Valeo for less than $100 (pair) – the dealer wanted about $250 for the pair plus tax.

The repair involved removing the front fender protector. (The repair manual says to remove the rear protector first, then the front, but I was able to remove the front easily without disturbing the rear.) Removal involves a few screws, several plastic “rivets” and some fender clamps. The foglight bezel has 4 friction catches that have to be depressed before removing the foglight unit. The light also has a screw on the “top” and a friction catch on the “bottom.” Replacement is straight-forward for the driver side, and complicated slightly on the passenger side by the wiper fluid tank. (You’ll need small hands to work around the tank.) In all, it took me less than 3 hours to replace the lights (and I’m purposely slow). The dealer wanted 2 hours labor for each light.
