Greetings. I just purchased a pre-owned 2011 Infiniti M37x and was wondering if anyone knows what the differences are between Nissan and Infiniti 999D4 (prefix) moonroof deflectors? It seems like they all start with the same, prefix 999D4, but the last five digits are different numbers. To me they all look the same. The exact part number for a 2011 M37x Infiniti Moonroof Wind Deflector is Infiniti Part No. 999D4-QX000. I wonder if the only difference is the price.

Has anyone installed one of these on their M37? Does anyone know if a specific less expensive Nissan moonroof deflector fits the M37?

Thank you for your advice and or comments.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Best regards,

When Nissan and Infiniti parts cross over, the p/n's will be identical. With a few exceptions, the p/n prefix defines what sort of part it is, so all deflectors will likely have an identical prefix. The suffix determines what it fits. Sometimes parts are so similar they can share the same hole successfully, but not often. If you go by appearance and not measurements, chances are it will be a losing crapshoot.

Thanks VStar650CL. I appreciate the information. I guess my quest to find a lower cost option for the M37x with a duplicate Nissan part is over.

Have a great evening.

Best regards,

Steve

FWIW. There've been a couple of deflectors in my family.
One particular one has been used on a 4th gen Maxima, 5th gen Maxima and i35, Infiniti qx4, y34 and y50 Infiniti m45, Nissan altima coupe, test fitted on an M56 and is currently mounted on a q50. The only thing we might have replaced/switched on one of the vehicles were the hold-down brackets, maybe.

In my experience, Nissan made a nice deflector that fits their standard width moonroof and for the most part, their roof designs are similar.

It could be worth it to find the cheapest Nissan unit you can lay your hands on, and just install it to check for fitment.
