The next-generation M is here in Arizona.

It's not in showrooms or on this website, but a heavily-camouflaged mystery vehicle on the desert proving grounds - Coincidentally, VERY near NICO Headquarters!

Officially, it's known as the Nissan Fuga - otherwise known as the M35/M45 in the United States - and the redesigned vehicle is gearing up for its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show later this year.

We don't know much about the M35/M45 redesign - which will be featured on the 2011 model - but we do know a thorough exterior makeover will take cues from the Infiniti Essence concept. The headlamps will continue to be stretched further over the fenders, while the taillights and bumper will be more smoothly integrated. Under the hood, expect a 3.7 liter, 24 valve V-6, 330hp engine for the M37 and a 5.0 liter, 32 valve V-8 for the M50. And that's all we know for now. Stay tuned!

Yes, you're right. Those are actually old 2009 Maxima photos.

the pic kinda reminded me of G35...

since they "redesgin" the body, why make the M look like a G?!

let's hope this ain't the real deal..

Greg thats a Maxima. The next M will continue on the new FM chassis, so overlooking the fact that the camo vehicle looks just like a Maxima, note the front wheels proportion to the hood, firewall, and lift and location. Its reminiscent of a FWD transverse mounted motor, and since the engine won't stretch beyond the front suspension frame, there is no way a V8 could fit there. The M will get a 350hp 3.7 V6 and a 410hp 5.0 V8 and the fantastic RE7 transmission. Lets pray we get a Manual transmission offering as well.

mmm even if that isnt the new M, it is still a very sexy looking car.

I dont think the M will get manual trans option as it is their luxury sedan. It will probably just continue to have the sport shifting like current Ms. Hopefully they put some new logic chips in it though to get shift times faster when in manual mode.

BTW, my bad on the spy shots... Jumped the gun.

Regardless, the artist's rendering is pretty damn close to the new M. I got to see an "inside preview" but couldn't copy it to post for you guys. Dammit.
