Where was the 5.6L? If you are talking about the Nissan engine, I really doubt they were able to put the Armada engine in the M without some major modifications...but maybe I'm wrong.Just for that huge V8 engine, I am already planning on trading in my M45 for a used '11 M56 in 2014 (hoping to get a great deal like I did on the 45). The looks will probably grow on me.NightWatch wrote:The engine offerings are big plus, but once again they're not unique. They've been around since the '08 and '09 model years, so they're overdue for inclusing into the M line.
Ditto!MinisterofDOOM wrote:I've been waiting with extreme anticipation for this reveal. I'm blown away. I expected to be disappointed...this M is everything I hoped for. Absolutely beautiful...best looking Infiniti in the fleet right now. And M56? YES PLEASE. I was hoping for an M50...but the 5.6 is a whole nother level of awesome.
I wonder if it's a VK56VE or VK56DE?
The M56 is a worth successor to the M and Q lines. Well done, Infiniti.
Indeed! Very well done on the engine choice. The 5.0 from the current FX50 would have been very, very good too, but the 5.6 just makes it truly awesome! Closer and closer to my recommendation years and years ago ago (when the 1997 Q came out) - make a Z60 model (with a 6.0 liter V-12) as the top-end Infiniti.MinisterofDOOM wrote:I've been waiting with extreme anticipation for this reveal. Funny, prior to this new M's release, the EX was my favorite of the new line of Infinitis as far as looks...for exactly the opposite reason you dislike it: I thought it was the LEAST juvenile looking.cruise8 wrote:don't like where they're going with this. most likely will be pickin up the 5-series because it's more manly. this just looks too much like the EX with childish characteristics. we want mean!
That's exactly what I like about it. Don't fix what isn't broken. I'm so sick of car magazines ragging on attractive designs just because they're not "evolutionary" enough. If a car looks good, it looks good. Bling factor and fads be damned. In 50 years it's not the bling- and fad-driven styling that will be remembered fondly, it's the stuff that stands on it's own. Take the Infiniti FX...the first gen was spectacular looking. Magnificent proportions, great details, every single bit of it was beautiful. The new FX tried to "evolve" from that and it looks like crap. The stupid headlights are terrible. And the worst part is there's still enough of the old FX left there to remind you of what the car COULD have been if Infiniti was more concerned with making an attractive car instead of making a "cool" car. And STILL magazine editors decry it for being too much like it's predecessor and not enough of a styling evolution.jim09091 wrote:I don't see any "huge" styling changes from the current gen M's but I do like some of the changes. I like the rear design a lot....
