Hey guys, I am new to the nico club and it's my first time publishing a post. I recently bought a 2011 G37 Coupe sports. I got it from CarMax and the car only has 17k. I'm loving the car and the extras that came with it. However, there's one thing that has been stressing me out. On cold starts the car makes a weird noise, it is hard to explain, the noise only last for 20-25 secs and then it goes away. Trying to see if anybody could tell me what it could possible be.

I've attached a link to the video of the noise it is making. I hope I attached the video right and hopefully you can heard the noise. When you get to 27 secs on the video you can hear the car going back to normal and it stops making the noise. Help me out! THANKS!

I don't hear anything ugly. It sounds like the car is warming up and the engine speed is already starting to drop after only 25 or so seconds. Was the car cold when you made this recording? If so, what was the ambient temperature?

Yes, the car was cold. It was in the morning before I was heading to work. Temperature was about 42-50 degrees F. I have been doing more research and I have been coming to read/ hear others that it is something normal on the g37 and 370Z on cold starts. It just sounds a little rough when you start it but nothing major.

I never paid attention until i read your post

My G37S had a low pitch growl when first started when cold that disappears in less than a minute.

I got out of my vehicle after starting it to pick up the newspaper at the end of my driveway. Inside the vehicle with the radio on it is harder to hear

Completely normal. Upon startup the car goes through a warm-up cycle of the catalytic converters.
