2011 Frontier & Wix Filter

I traded a 2007 4.0L Frontier for a 2011 earlier this year. The '07 used Wix 51356 oil filter. Now their cross shows 51358, a much shorter filter. The original filter was same size as 51356

Anybody have any ideas? Surely the spring pressure and backflow valve is same. They appear the same. The longer one is certainly easier to get on/off.

Wix is pondering the issue according to the email I got back.

Go buy a nissan filter and compare it to both wix, use the nissan one and once you size it to wix use that one from now on.

I only use Nissan filters for this very reason. While Wix makes good filters but they are limited by what information the OEM supplies them which puts them behind somewhat.
