2011 EX35 - Transmission delayed engagement

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey Folks,

I bought a 2011 EX35 with 125k miles in Nov 22 and joined this forum shortly after. Unfortunately there have been a number of minor headaches with this car right out of the gate. I noticed after the thermostat body was replaced, on occasion, not every time, when I press the gas pedal at a stop, the transmission is about a half second to second delayed when engaging. At this point my RPMs are up and when the transmission engages, there is a jolt forward. This does not happen everytime, but I would say it happens once each time I drive the car. I was trying to check the transmission fluid to see if it was topped off properly, but realized I could not find the dipstick (if it even exists).

Anyone have experience with this or any ideas? Thanks in advance!!!

If there is a dipstick, it's on passage side near firewall. Hard to see behind engine cover. Also held down with bolt.
My 2010 ex35 does not have one.
I would go ahead and get transmission fluid changed at a mechanic and ask for evaluation.
Good luck.

To follow up, the transmission on this car is sealed so I could not check it myself. Took the car to the dealer and they confirmed the transmission fluid was low, so they replenished that, changed the set levels in the software, and the car runs great now! And only $190 at the dealer, so I felt I got a steal.
