2011 EX35 Service Manual

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I was able to find the 2010 Service manual. Anybody knows where to get the 2011 version?

I am a new 2011 EX35 Owner. So far I love the car. My last car was a Nissan Murano and I am looking on doing the Video Bypass Mod. I have a 2011 EX35 With the premium package (Navigation). I did the mod for my murano and loved it. Want to do the same for the 2011 EX35

Thanks.

Welcome!
I did that video bypass mod to my EX. It has come in handy for sure.

I don't believe you have quite enough posts yet; but when you do, I would send a PM to AZHitman (one of the site's admins) and see if he could get one posted in the Nicoclub factory service manual directory. I know there are a couple of owners of the 2011 and newer models that had looked for the manuals.

I've notified the "Powers That Be" (aka AZhitman) that you're looking for that FSM. As soon as we can locate it and post it, we'll give you a heads up. We misplaced a few during an upgrade awhile back, so may take a little time. BTW, there's a link to the FSM's in my sig line.

THANKS!! That would be awesome.

I saw the 2010 FSM. But not for the 2011.

I wanted the manual because I am changing the halogens to Morimoto HID kit I purchased and also to do the Video Bypass mod.

Got a reply from AZhitman. He's working on it, and the requested FSM should be up no later than tomorrow evening.

sorry to bump a old thread but i found this
2008-2009-infiniti-ex35-emergency-brake ... 70900.html
however it is now blank. does anyone have the saved instruction, i would like to the do the relay to keep the stock wiring/function. On the other hand can anyone confirm that if I just ground the VSS and Parking sensor that it will have no negative effects? like GSP signal being slow for navigation.

I don't believe that you even need the relay to make it work; you just need to have the VSS and parking brake signals wired to ground via a DPDT switch. I don't even think you need the switch itself, but it's highly recommended that you do use it (for the GPS signal lag and such). The thread for this mod in the Armada/QX56 forum has this covered in pretty good detail:
08-11-armada-qx56-watch-dvd-s-on-your-n ... 58-60.html

While there aren't any threads for this mod specific to the EX, I don't think it should be that hard to find a "how-to" on pulling apart the center of the dashboard to remove the headunit. The EX's dashboard setup is nearly identical to the G35/G37. That, along with the wiring pin-outs from the FSM, should be just enough information for doing the mod. The only couple of details that might be missing are how to make your connections (solder vs. crimp), wire lengths, switch location, and grounding points. If you happen to do the mod, I think it would benefit the EX owners here if you share photos and provide a write-up on your experience.

Thank you for the response. I am not worried about the dash removal or anything like that, I am just concerned about which wire color since it seems different on each. I guess I have to download and go over the FSM, I was hoping to find it since others have done it before and seem to have posted pictures of the exact wire, however now it is missing. Basically I ground the parking wire coming out of the plug and put a toggle switch for the VSS.
So if anyone remebers the exact color for the parking and VSS I would appreciate it.

I believe the 'right' wires depends on which audio system you have in your EX. Do you have the Base Audio, Bose Audio w/o Nav, or Bose Audio w/ Nav? I think the wires may be in different spots on the connector for each of the different audio systems. It also might vary by model year, so what applied for the 2008 may not necessarily be right for your 2010.

--EDIT--
Never mind, I'm sure you have the Bose Audio w/ NAV. Not sure why I overlooked the obvious  :) .

Since the FSM for the 2011 have been posted. I was able to get the information. The wires are the same as the 2010 EX35 with Nav

Will write a how to once I have time to work on this.

Perfect, thank you for that. However from what I have seen you dont need that type of relay/switch. Just a normal switch to brake the connection for vss or connect it for continuity, and for the parking you should just ground the wire coming from the harness. Am I mistaken on this?

Also I can't find that thread now but someone found the VSS and Parking wire/harness hear the driver side footwell bt the door. That seems like a muvh easier option and would be a cleaner install. Does anyone recall that thread?

I don't think you're mistaken. If you so choose, I recall that you can use a SPDT switch for switching just the VSS signal connection back and forth to ground, and for the parking brake signal you would directly wire it to ground. The guys in the Armada/QX56 thread recommended the DPDT switch for warranty or diagnostic purposes, but I never found out how the signal inputs would affect any diagnostic procedures or outputs through the AV system screen.

I don't remember seeing that thread, but if you find out which of those wires are the right ones (or if you find that thread), let us know!

You are not mistaken. I decided to use a DPDT switch to completely switch the connections back to OEM/Normal mode.

This is the mod I did for my Murano, so I figure why not. If you have navigation, you need a SPST switch for the VSS cable only since you will need that to get the GPS working again.

When you go into diagnostic mode. There is a screen that shows:
1.-If the Parking sensor is OFF or ON
2.-If the VSS is OFF or ON.

That's basically it. If you cut the Parking Wire. The Diagnostic will always show as OFF regardless of the parking brake position. Besides that there isn't much than that.

The DPDT switch is not needed then, if you cut the VSS wire and have it "on" with the switch it would be like if it was just cut, if you switch it to "off" then it would close the loop for the VSS. I am not sure why the DPDT switch is needed, it seems to make things more complication. just a normal toggle should work?

PPan76, do you know the color, that way I can track it down to the foot well area.

found it but it seems it will only work for the All around Camera, you still need to get behind the dash for the DVD/NAV imput bypass

Do I did it, took me 45min to do it and 3 hrs to find the dam clip for the shift knob (I stopped looking lol) and the rest of the time trying to figure out why there was so much lag for the VSS. After reading some more thread it seems that 15 to 30 lag is normal when you go from VSS bypass to normal VSS. I though my wiring was messed up or something so i took everything apart and did it twice, traced all my wires, double check the diagram, etc.
BTW when you ground the parking wire and make a switch for your VSS, the All around camera will not work at speed. Weird because I thought this mod would bypass the all around camera speed lock out also, guess not.

It looks like the around view camera system has its own separate source for VSS signal. The guy who posted the thread about this mod on the infinitscene site had stated that.

Where did you end up mounting your switch?

i mounted it on the lower left panel where the other buttons are, my thinking is if I was to remove the bypass I could just buy a new cover and easily replace it for cheap.

Also, anyone know the part number the retaining clip of the shift knob, i still cant find it.

I think the part number you're looking for is 34922-EG00A.
