2011 EX35 Downshift Rev Matching problem

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I test drove a 2011 EX35 AWD Journey model, with transmission clutch on "D". However, the vehicle slows down significantly after I release the gas pedal. This is really annoying.
After doing some research, this might be the so-called "Downshift Rev Matching" feature. But according to infiniti website, it should only be available when at "Manual" transmission mode.
I test drove a 2010 EX35 AWD Journey before and it didn't have the issue.
Does anyone have the same issue?
Thanks

I haven't driven a 2011 EX35, but my guess would be that it's due to the 7-speed transmission (vs. 5-speed in earlier years). I noticed the same thing sometimes in a G37 (which was also 7-speed).

I noticed a little bit of this symptom in 2011 g37 as well, but much better than the ex.
However, the g25 I test drove didn't have this problem.
