2011 EX music box hack?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Anybody found a way to transfer music into music box without loading CD's?... I know about playing music from thumb drives and USb devices (from my other thread) but I want to know if there is ANY way to transfer all the music from a USB drive/IPOD/card to the music box.
Any tech minded people out there?
Thanks!

You cannot load protected files from an ipod or other device.
Here are some of the system highlights and restrictions from the book.

Music Box hard drive (models with navigation system)
Recording :
● Note that data that is lost and not stored to the hard disk drive due to system damage, operation or malfunction is not under warranty.
● Vehicle owners are not permitted to record music without permission of the owner of the copyright except for personal use.
● Check if the music is appropriately recorded to the hard disk drive after recording when the compact disc cannot be rerecorded.
● Some music cannot be recorded depending on the disc condition due to high-speed recording.
● Jumping sounds may be recorded when a compact disc is recorded while driving on rough roads and excessive vibration occurs.
● A mark indicating jumping sounds is displayed if jumping sounds are recorded.
● No sounds may be recorded if jumping sounds occurs or the disc is in poor condition.
● Tracks that include Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) are not recorded.
● If a compact disc is scratched or dirty, it may not be recorded, jumping sounds may occur or it may take a long time to record.

Automatic title download :
● The title information that is automatically downloaded may differ from the actual title.
● When newly released compact discs are recorded, their title information may not be downloaded.
● The title information in the hard disk can be updated.

The Music Box hard drive audio system can store songs from CDs being played. The system has a 9.3 gigabyte (GB) storage capacity.

The following CDs can be recorded in the Music Box hard drive audio system.

I know, actually I meant MP3 files from a USB stick or Ipod in disc mode, so all the files would be unprotected. I just want to know if some tech minded person has figured it out.... after all, it's a HD and has a boot sector. I've read the manual in very much detail... it also says it supports aac files but when you load a usb stick with aac files, they don't play... you only see the track names...

I have been looking for the same thing too with little success since the 2008 CF interface. The direct usb interface should allow communication and alteration but Zenrin is very protective of their software. I would personally like to add more memory to the AV network to support a greater IVR library.
I would like to add something like-

The actual software is fairly simple to use, I would like something with a few more options.

Just utilize the USB port.

Many devices can be used for your music.

Here are a couple options. I have also used a 32GB SDHC card.

Some things are just meant to be. :yesnod

I guess I'm not making myself clear: looking for a way to TRANSFER music to the music box from a USB device... In other words, RECORD music into music box from the USB port...

We get it.

I doubt you'll find anybody wanting to take on a major task
simply due to lack of interest.

I've got access to 10K songs simply by leaving my storage device plugged in to the USB
port.

Personally this works for me as I use satellite radio 90% of the time any way. I also don't
want a hacked up $40K car.

That is very true. Many people had done the physical modification to the harness to bypass the speed and parking brake requirements to active the dvd player. That was a simple cut and splice, what the new wave of "aftermarket" alterations will be is tweaked software.

Unfortunately for the OP I do not think such a process is in anything more than beta testing at this point. With the speed Nissan has been altering drive software it is really going to take an owner with some programming skills and some juevos grande to tap the ~$8000 AV computer. I've been on the hunt for some time now but keep coming up empty.

You mean "huevos grandes"?... yeah, I know. But It would be great for somebody to sell the aftermarket "patches". This is like when you couldn't customize your PC many years ago and people started to market "add ons"... It seems like a waste of tech to have the HD and you can't do much with it. Oh well, c'est la vie, mon amie.
