I've got a 2011 hatchback and really dislike the factory grille. I got the billet grille from ebay which I was told would work.

In the instructions they instruct cutting out the piece behind the original grille and emblem in the center in order to align the billet grille and mount in properly. I was concerned this might have some impact on my warranty? Since I would be removing part of the molded bumper. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, any "cutting" would void the warranty on the bumper. But, I'm not sure why you would want a warranty on the bumper.

Thanks for your response. I probably should have been more clear about exactly what warranty concerns I have. I am not concerned about the bumper but rather the warranty for the vehicle as a whole. It's got under a thousand miles on it and I'm just worried that altering the bumper might be seen as somehow lessening the integrity of the impact system or some other loophole that the Nissan could use to get out of covering or repairing damages if there was an accident. Thanks.

Warranties do not cover repairing damage caused by accidents, it only covers manufacturing defects and premature failure of components.

Now... if you're talking about a potential products liability claim against Nissan after an accident - your attorney probably would have to deal the defense bringing up bumper modification as a contributor to damages.

That makes sense. I guess maybe it was a dumb question in the first place. I just didn't want to make an irreversible mistake and mess something up with my bumper to bumper warranty.
