Hey everyone. I have a 2011 Altima coupe that already has OEM fog lights. I have the SR model and it came with HID xenon lights. My fog lights are a yellowish halogen color. I was looking to get these replaced but never got around to it.

Can anyone recommend a good fog light kit that will match my HID xenon headlights?

Also can someone point me towards a good tutorial on how to set something like this up?

Thanks in advanced.

Welcome to the forums ccboy! Many folks around here have purchased a DDM Tuning Kit. You will need an H11 size bulb kit.

For installation help take a look at this article:

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll be sure to read up on this. It will be a fun project for me, even though it's probably cake for most of you!

Just a few questions. Seeing as I already have HID xenon headlights and halogen fog fights, do I need an entire kit? If so, which Ballast should I get and is Nissan's Xenon headlights 5,000 or 6,000 bulb color? I'd like them to match if possible.

I have the kit and bulb, but I don't know if I need one or just the other.

Yes, you will need the whole kit to convert the foglights over to HID. The 35w slim ballast should do you just fine.

The trouble here is the stock Xenon are 4300k. 5000k may not match very well. 4500k may match better. You could always convert the headlight bulbs to a different kelvin rating if you wish as well. The headlights are D2S bulbs.

Thank you so much for your help! Do these options look solid?

Do you recommend anything else or do i require anything else? I'm not sure if they HID kit wiring harness is needed or not.

You don't necessarily need mounting brackets. I used zip ties and they've lasted two years so far

Appreciate your input sir. Did you go with a similar setup? I'd be interested to know your configuration as well. :)

Yeah I've got the same kit from ddm tuning except I think I have 6500K bulbs. I've got aftermarket fogs so that doesn't really apply to you unfortunately.

Alex, do you have projectors for your aftermarket fogs?

Are there any issues with putting HIDs in the OEM fog light housing (and by that I mean blindingly bright for oncoming traffic)? Thanks.

Yes I have projectors for my fogs. The cutoff quality is poor but there is still a lot of aim-ability there with a clear cutoff. They just scatter some light upwards. The aftermarket projectors are fairly long and fittin HID bulbs in them can be problematic because the windshield washing fluid reservoir is in the way. Also HID bulbs can be longer than the halogen bulbs and mess with the cutoff lines in the housings.

Thanks for the info... just ordered 5000k bulb replacements for my headlights and 35w conversion w/ 5000k bulbs for the fogs... looking to have my fogs match my headlights.
