Every two years, Luke AFB hosts a HUGE air show that is free to the public. This show is a massive undertaking. It takes months to plan and millions of dollars to execute but it really was a fantastic time. I hope they get a lot of new recruits because of it. On Sunday, Greg, Dar, and myself went to check it out. Several antique planes are on display as well as the planes that are currently in service. The show isn't AF exclusive either. There are Army helicopters and Navy planes on display as well. FWIW, my knowledge of planes is no match for my admiration so I don't know the names of many that I took pictures of. Most of them were not clearly identified either. I'm hoping Christine, and others, can jump in here and help me out so I can label my pictures. Enjoy the favorites and as always, the link to the full photobucket album will be at the end of the post. :bigthumb:

What a blast. I could wander through and listen to the old pilots tell stories all day.

How cool is it that my wife dragged us to an airshow?

Yeah - u jelly.

p.s. My favorite? The B52. Will be America's first 100-year plane.

The one we saw was built in 1960, served in Vietnam, the Gulf War, and several other conflicts, and is STILL commissioned through the year... 2040. Oh hell yeah. Carries more fuel than the refueling tankers. The Crew Chief was a great kid - He'd been with THAT plane for 8 years and has personally dismantled every piece of the plane himself.
